Deregistration as member of Paradoks

You can deregister as member of Paradoks at any time. To do so, send an email to bestuur@paradoks.utwente.nl. Please be sure to mention your student number (or user name if you don’t have a student number). The board will assist you further.

There are a few things you have to keep in mind:

For ‘Primaire leden’ (students BME or TM):

  1. If you graduate you will NOT be approached by Paradoks to deregister as member. This has been the case before, but since the GDPR was brought into effect it is not possible for Paradoks to see if you are graduated or not. This means you have to contact Paradoks yourself timely. If you do not do so, we assume you will stay a member.

  2. The membership fee is determined annually. This is €10.00 per year. You have paid your expected membership in full when you became member (BME: €50.00 for 5 years or TM: €60.00 for 6 years).

    1. If you deregister before your membership term has ended, you will get your remaining membership fee back on your bank account.

    2. If you are still member after your initial membership term has ended, your membership will automatically be prolonged by a year. You will pay €10.00 annually.

  3. Membership and membership fee will always be calculated annually. It is not possible to get back part of your membership fee if you deregister before the end of the year.

  4. The deregistration deadline will be determined by the board. This will usually (but not always) be on the 31st of July. If the date differs from this, you will be notified well beforehand. On the 31st of July, the financial year ends. This means that you have to deregister before this date. If you do not do this, you are required to pay full membership of the following year too.

    1. If you are graduating and the date of your graduation is known (e.g. half August), let the board know. This way you prevent having to pay an extra year of membership fee.

For ‘Externe Leden’ (other studies):

  1. The membership fee is determined annually. This is €5.00 per year. If you do not deregister, your membership will automatically be prolonged by a year.

  2. Membership and membership fee will always be calculated annually. It is not possible to get back part of your membership fee if you deregister before the end of the year.
